Lapostolle is a spectacular winery set in the Colchagua Valley, Chile. The vineyards in Alpalta are certified organic and biodynamic – the grapes made into wines by winemaker Andrea León Iriate. A blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. A dense inky red colour in the glass. The nose shows red and black fruits, with peppercorn, mocha and orange peel top notes. Quite full-bodied, the palate has a style of crunchy fruit that is rustic and robust. Tannin is well-tamed, with a fine drag and grip to it. The acidity if still very primary and it drives the palate quickly, with just a nod to a smooth texture that should develop with more time in bottle. 90pts
