A wine from the Bendigo sub-region of Central Otago. A pale coral pink colour in the glass. Juicily aromatic, with cherry, raspberry, redcurrant and some citrus notes of orange and lemon peel. Well-balanced into the palate – the lick of sweetness goes well with the fruit tannin that nibbles and pricks the tongue. Quite minerally, with a steely freshness of oyster shell and crushed quartz. A touch of herbs and spice further back, where a broader, silky texture takes hold and cossets you into a finish of really good length and harmony. Serious but very enjoyable. 93pts
