Produced by the pioneers of biodynamic farming in Gisborne – a single vineyard Chenin Blanc from a good vintage. A light golden colour in the glass. An elegant and restrained bouquet requires some air to release scents of pear, lemon curd, nougat, grapefruit, agave and breadcrumbs, with a lilt of spring flowers as a top note. Very crisply acidic, highlighting those citrus flavours and giving a bright energy through the middle of the palate. Around the sides, a combination of chalky minerals, apple-skin tannins and grainy texture give complexity and depth. Quite varietal, and you can expect a typical honey richness to develop if you cellar this wine for a few years. 94pts
