A riesling in an off-dry style, grown on the Mt Maude vineyard in Wanaka. Translucent lemon-green colour in the glass. A wispy bouquet with precise varietal aromas of lime zest, grapefruit, green apple, fresh herbs, elderflower and lemon sherbert. A tightrope of fruit sweetness and racy acidity appears, with youthful energy and vigour. A bite of minerality gives a frisson to the palate – nervy and tension-filled, dancing between teeth and tongue. Turning towards a velvet texture at the back of the palate, rounding from the sharp opening, and into a long, succulent finish. 94pts
