From one of Marlborough’s ‘name vineyards’ in the Southern Valleys sub-region. A shining ruby-burgundy colour in the glass. Damson plum, rosehip, elderberry, cherry, incense and liquorice sit amongst lavender, lilac and violet floral notes in the inviting bouquet. A spine of tannin is supple and fine, whilst the oak provides a stage for the juicy fruit to perform on. A powdery spice elements flits through the palate and there’s a sweet note of caramel towards the end. The finish is smooth and long. 94pts
