Opened for Méthode Marlborough Day on the 28th March – this is a vintage sparkling made in the same way as Champagne, and a member of the excellent Méthode Marlborough grower-led society. A pale gold and green in the glass, with a persistent bead of fine bubbles. Quite biscuity and savoury on the nose – the perfume carrying brioche, oatmeal, marmite and spices, with plenty of citrus and white peach fleshing it out. Dry, with brisk acidity and those generous golden fruit flavours really blooming across the palate. A smooth texture with little hints of quartzy minerality towards the clean, precise finish. 91pts
