A wine from this small producer in North Canterbury – made from Abel clone Pinot Noir. There is a touch of carbonic fermentation and whole bunch character here, with raspberry, cloves, cotton candy, liquorice, pickled cherries and orange peel in a vibrant and exotic perfume. Light on its feet, but building through the palate. More cherry flavour through the middle., and the tannin is long, fine and a touch prickly. Finishes with a chinotto dryness that contrasts well with the bloodiness of the fruit. 93pts
