A wine from the Wairau Valley, Marlborough, using full botrytised Riesling grapes. A 375ml bottle. A deep copper colour in the glass. The bouquet has a distinctly tar edge, with plenty of butterscotch, pineapple, nougat, apricot and jasmine notes. Very clean on the palate, with a sweetness balanced by plenty of phenolics and a crisp acidity giving enough drive to keep the wheels turning. Golden flavours of apricot, membrillo, marmalade and tinned peach. A prickle of treacley tartness right at the back of the palate then leads into a drier, mouth-watering finish that is quite sumptuous and lengthy. 93pts
