Made from Pinot Noir – clone 777 – in Moutere, Nelson. A pale watermelon pink in the glass. Aromas of pomegranate, raspberry, redcurrant, peach and peppery spice on the nose. A bright, salty acidity leads the palate, lending a lightness of touch. Dry and quite taut – the balance and poise here is quite elegant. I detect just a touch of barrel component in some weight and depth as you take a second sip – mouth-filling and textural. The finish has a nibble of phenolic tannin and great clarity with a sustained length. 92pts
