A first crop off the Syrah vines in the Topsy Turvey vineyard, saw a small amount of rosé made for this ‘Special Parcel Series’ wine for the 2023 vintage. A deep watermelon pink colour in the glass. Vibrant and ripe notes of redcurrant, red liquorice, cranberry and plum, plus a little baking spice and vanilla, and floral elements of orchid and lilac. Although quite dry it is generous – the ripe fruit is carried on a piquant acidity, and the gentle seasoning of oak from the barrel ferment adds depth. Filled with a vivacious energy, it flits through the palate to a crisp, elegant finish of good length. 92pts
