From one of the oldest vineyards in Gibbston, Central Otago. A dark purple colour in the glass. The perfume has a complex blend of floral – lilac and rose petal; red fruits – plum, cherry and cranberry; plus herbs and spices. The spine is provided by an interplay of plump tannin, spicy oak and fresh acidity. Well-balanced and with a youthful bounce through the palate. The flesh of the ripe fruit meets a savoury, herbal layer of thyme, olive and lavender. Softening towards the finish, there is a creamy texture and good persistence. 93pts
