A wine from the Immigrant’s Vineyard in Alexandra in Central Otago, put together by winemaker Antony Worch from Alexandra Vintners. A rich, salmon pink colour in the glass with equally bright and ripe aromas of melon, cranberry, cherry and rhubarb topped off with a little salted caramel and minerality. The palate is all red – red liquorice and red summer berries. Generous and fruit-forward in style. A crisp, balanced acidity and touch of fruit tannin add interest and keep it from being cloying. A bright, dry finish – nothing too difficult here, just a lip-smacking summer wine perfect for lunch or early evening. 89pts
