A re-release of this wine that last made Pioneer Block grade back in 2015. Sourced from a single vineyard in Dillons Point – in Marlborough’s lower Wairau Valley, with fruit grown by second-generation growers the Geer and Bennett family. A pale green colour, scented with Granny Smith apple, grapefruit, whitecurrant, passionfruit and a oyster shell minerality on the nose. The palate is very detailed, tense and precise. Driven by a zesty acidity, it has abundant energy and zip – the succulent fruit highlighted by that linear, silvery spine of acid. The finish is dry, pithy and very clean – with great length of flavour. 93pts
