A single vineyard wine from Gibbston in Central Otago. Very pale green-straw colour in the glass, with quite lifted and spicy aromatics. Good Pinot Gris typicity on the nose and a plushness to the perfume of lemon honey, mandarin, red apple and pear danish with almonds. A distinctive and attractive savoury element on the palate – fennel, roast celery and sourdough with herbs like thyme and sorrel. Off-dry but finishes quite tight and drier than the opening suggests. 92pts
