This aromatic white comes from a single vineyard beside the Waihopai River in Marlborough. A pale green-gold in the glass. Delicate aromatics of crisp apple, lemon, jalapeno, white pepper, green capsicum, nectarine and bay leaf. The palate is tightly bound, with a tart acidity that showcases the juicy fruit. A richer set of flavours unfurls, with melon and baking spice, but still with that good astringency line throughout. A touch of minerality shows, with a chalkiness, and pithy drying element to the finish. 92pts
