A wine from a small vineyard overlooking the Moutere estuary, Nelson. Very pale straw-green in the glass, with a lively perfume of green apple, lime zest, lemongrass, fennel and pink grapefruit, wit just a lift of jasmine and orange blossom florals. At 9.5% alcohol, the body is light-medium, but there is around 29g/l of residual sugar which adds depth and body to the palate. Fruit-forward and bursting with brio and energy – enhanced by a sharp acidity that adds tension and carries the flavours well. A crushed shell, flinty minerality stalks in behind the plush fruit, ending in a crisp, juicy finish. 91pts
