A blend of the Te Kano Estate Gerome and Northburn Vineyards, made from three clones – Mendoza, 1066 and 548. Appetising aromas of lemon, peach, apple and sliced fennel, with a little baking spice and elderflower floral lift. Elegant, clean and precocious into the palate where the generous line of fruit is carried on a soft acid freshness. A subtle seasoning of oak and just a nibble of slatey minerality towards the back. Texture is gracefully polished. The Te Kano Sauvignon Blanc was a showstopper when I tried that – this is a good, fairly straight up and down – good, balanced and easy to like. 88pts
