A wine from Central Otago – a fresh look at a wine I first tasted in May 2020. A vibrant pale lemon-green in the glass, with a complex, toasty bouquet of peach, citrus, ginger, hazelnut and chamomile. The palate has a more rounded feel after an extra couple of years in the bottle now – weighty, spicy and the fruits turning more tropical, with melon, fig and quince. A hint of popcorn and oatmeal adds nuance, and there is a creamy texture that is rich and rounded. Still a crisp bite and brightness from the acidity, and that pithy phenolic from the lees influence is also there at the lengthy finish. 93pts
