A wine from their Bendigo vineyard, in Central Otago. Hand-picked, and a quarter of the blend fermented in older barrels. A vibrant lemon-green colour, with a deliciously appealing perfume. Varietally pure, with pear, cinnamon pastry, quince, honey, ginger and orange blossom on the nose. Just sneaking into off-dry, with a fruit ripeness and sweetness that fills the palate but it finishes clean and dry. A chime of acid brightness gives excellent flow, and there is enough concentration and energy without plumping out the palate too much and leaving enough space to let you wander through some layers of complexity. Look for waxy texture, a suggestion of phenolic tang, and more spice into that finish. 93pts
