From South Australia, and a label that always done pretty well by its Viognier – this is the entry-level ‘Y series’ from sites across its range of vineyards. A pale green/gold in the glass. Grapefruit pith, apricot, white nectarine, nougat, honey, lemon and jasmine notes on the nose. It lacks acidity, but that is often the case with the varietal, and it is quite varietally pure and aromatic. Dry, smooth and waxy, with a powdery textural quality. The citrus notes build again, getting quite zesty and concentrated towards the back of the palate. Finishes short and breezy. 86pts
