A single vineyard wine from Eden Valley, 500-600m up, and one of the coolest sites in the Barossa. A winner of a Gold Medal at NZIWS this year. Pale green-straw in the glass. Lemongrass, grapefruit, lime peel, green apple, sorrel and raspberry leaf on the nose. Green, tight and dry into the palate. Some bracing acidity gives a mouth-watering spine on which the balance of herbal, savoury and sweeter fruit notes jostle together. A briney minerality comes through underneath, and just enough ripeness – apricot and satsuma, to smooth out the zesty edges. Finishes dry, pithy and persistent. 92pts
