A deep crimson/ruby in the glass, with an intensely aromatic nose filled with raspberry, thyme, bubblegum, mocha, blueberry, red plum and a floral lift of rose petal and violets. Crunchy fruit, both juicy and at the same time savoury across the palate. A jelly-like summer pudding texture and flavour evolves, as the wine is quick to change in the glass. Some bitter cherry, and Campari astringency underlie that glossy red berry fruit, adding complexity and interest. Tannin is there but soft and drying with a hint of black tea to them. There is a lot of personality to this wine. I tried it both lightly chilled, and at room temperature, and both versions (it changes quite noticeably) are worth your attention. Finishes dry, sweeter and long. 93pts
