Coming mostly from a small vineyard in the Ure Valley, located in the Southern tip of Marlborough. Bold and complex with subtle flinty notes and ripe peach, mandarin peel, lime, nougat and granny smith apple on the nose. The boldness and weight carries into the palate, with a good level of concentration kept moving by a line of zesty acidity. A sweet to savoury balance, shown with herbal tarragon elements and green olive and sweetcorn savoury flavours. The vibrant mid-palate then settles into a toasty, mealy, cosseting texture – rounding things out and slowing it down. Classy, harmonious and well-made. 93pts
