From the Adelaide Hills – an iconic Aussie Chardonnay, and a leader of the ‘modern style’ now prevalent amongst good quality producers in the West Island. A translucent pale green hue, with hints of pale straw at the edges. A generous balanced aroma without anything dominating and presenting ripe stonefruit, citrus and a lift of lemon blossom florals. The palate has heft and power, but again shows a delicacy of poised balance that belies that tense muscular core. The oak is in line, there’s a brisk acidity and a delicious mineral green edge. Good clean juice and length and drive from that acid line. The finish has purity, elegance and persistence. 94pts.
