Block 1 is one of the company vineyards on a north-facing slope in Bannockburn. Stone fruit immediately on the nose, invitingly aromatic and laden with ripeness. Mandarin, melon and ginger follow swiftly, with a jasmine floral lift. Similarly vibrant and succulent into the power-packed palate. There is a juicy acidity and an opulent, sweet fruit intensity, but the two play in harmony, with the delicate balance offering great detail and poise to the wine. A pithy minerality leans into the back of the palate, with a herbal sense of fennel, tarragon and jasmine tea. The finish is aromatic again, and flows elegantly to a sustained finale. 94pts
