A chardonnay from a higher altitude vineyard in the northern section of St. Aubin. Showing aromas of lemon peel, sourdough crumb, chestnut, geranium, nashi pear and citrus blossom. The palate opens with a chiselled, lively acidity and presents an austere oyster-shell minerality, before blooming into a wider, richer depth of peach, mandarin and pink grapefruit flavours. Elegant and polished, with focus, poise and energy. A couple of savoury notes – green olive, tarragon and white pepper add interest, and the plush, mealy texture rounds things out. Extended, drying finish. 96pts
