A single vineyard, hand-harvested, wild fermented Chardonnay from the Moutere Hills, Nelson. Elegant and precise on the nose – with white peach, lemon rind, banana skin, grapefruit and bright freesia floral aromas. Tight, energetic and concentrated, with some green notes of matcha, apple and cucumber alongside the stonefruit and citrus flavours. Acidity is saline, brisk and gives excellent, agile line through the palate. There is oak here but sitting in the background, and the thing you really notice is the texture. Poised and with a creaminess, but with a squeeze of lemon piquancy and minerality. So harmonic, the shape is just seamless, and then the length is lightly spicy and dry. Excellent stuff. 95pts
