From their Manata Vineyard in Lowburn. A mid-ruby colour, tinged with burgundy, and positively abundant with crunchy cherry, clove, damson, black pepper, raspberry and thyme aromas. Bloody and with a sappy, campari/cassis note that speaks of some whole-bunch ferment and is a delicious top note over this ripe, spicy palate. Oak is shown, but sits quietly, and the savoury, loamy flavours edging into centre stage, developing a richness and great detail. There is a measured acidity and the tannin is fine, chalky. Balanced, viscous and harmonious – a treat for the cellar, which will surely develop beautifully. 93pts.
