From the elevated, hillside Blue Rock Vineyard comes this delicious Wairarapa Riesling. A shining, pale golden colour in the glass, with an elegant perfume that takes in dried pineapple, tangerine, lime peel, freshly sliced apple and cherry blossom. Minerally and saline, with a breezy tang of acidity sitting over some juicy citrus and stonefruit flavours. Quite complex – layers of that mineral oyster shell repeat; and there’s green herbs and a gentle spice sitting somewhere between crushed juniper berry, ginger and fennel seed. The finish is generous and sweetening. 90pts
