A rosé from merlot grapes grown at a vineyard in Awaawaroa Bay, Waiheke, and named after the vineyard shed that the Dunleavys converted to a restaurant for visitors on site. Strikingly pale strawberry pink in the glass, with bright and ripe aromas of plum, raspberry, redcurrant and red apple. Also showing delicious floral notes of orange blossom and lilac on the nose. Acidity is fresh and tense, carrying the plush red fruit flavours well, and there’s an added a tang of fruit tannins. A delightful lunch or aperitif wine – dry, vibrant and textural, in the style of classic Provence rosé. 90pts.
