A Riesling from Marlborough – a bright pale lemon-yellow in the glass. Softly scented, subtle and classy with tangerine peel, tart apple, lemon zest and honeysuckle aromas. Off dry with a balance of acidity, pithy fruit tannin and ripe lush fruit sweetness. Crisply concentrated, tight and with great structure and potential for cellaring. The sweetness sweeps in a little more as the wine opens up, with apple pie and white peach notes through the back of the palate and into a generous, rounded texture. The finish has a nice waxy character and is long and harmonious. 91pts.
