A new wine, from Helen and Ben Masters clay-rich vineyard (and 20 year old vines) on the outskirts of Martinborough. A pale lemon-green in the glass, with elegant yet intense aromas. Crisp white nectarine, lemon rind, apple, cashew nut, sea salt and baking spice on the nose. Shows real finesse into the palate – ethereal and jazzy, with a lithe, sure step. Youthful and taut – once you’re in, a mouth-watering acidity gives immense line through the palate – driven and direct. A deeper complexity and personality as the wine progresses, evolving and adding more richness and power layered into the core. The aluuring texture is wrapped in phenolics and a saline minerality that is persistant from aroma to finish. A super wine with immense character. 96pts
