A deep golden straw, tinged with green, in the glass, showing plenty of bottle age development in colour. Rich aromas of lemon, peach, ginger, apple, honey and butterscotch on the nose. Acidity is still moderate and gives a nice flow through the deepening palate. Fig, apricot, melon and pineapple tropical flavours dominate here, with just a pithiness of grapefruit and mandarin peel as a counterpoint to the broad, ripe fruit. Texture is mouth filling – smooth, with a waxy, lanolin-like plushness. The finish is rich and caramelised but quite refined and harmonious. Drinking beautifully – deserved to be decanted, and it developed quite noticeably after 30 minutes of air. 94pts.
