A Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay, pale gold in the glass; with a vibrant nose of grapefruit, golden peach, cashew nut, caramel and orange blossom. The palate is ripe, voluminous and concentrated. More citrus and stonefruits with a honeyed oatmealiness. Medium acidity – well balanced with nice flow. Enriched with a fair spread of toasty oak – powerful but quite integrated and fits with the wine. The texture is creamy, smooth and as that envelops the tastebuds, there’s more vanilla, butterscotch and toasted chestnut notes. The finish is rich, plush and rounded. 92pts.
