A hand-picked single vineyard wine from Bannockburn in Central Otago. Aromas of dark plum, rosehip and cranberry, with a floral lift of violets and lilac. Ripe, fine tannins – showing a lick of black tea tartness- balance the plumpness of fruit. Beautifully savoury wine – dark chocolate, soy and espresso flavours mix with sweet red cherry and spicy damson. Elegant, supple and layered. Acidity is focussed and linear, bouncing off the fruit and tannin and giving real drive and personality. Texturally plush, but showing enough minerality and edge to make this an intruiging and memorable drop. 94pts.
