One of three (currently) dessert wines produced by this excellent Gladstone Estate – this one the least sweet of the trio with 116g/l residual sugar. An effusive nose with lemon blossom and jasmine, crystallised ginger and pineapple and butterscotch notes. Plush with a depth of marshmallow sweetness that’s balanced with a bright, clean acidity. On the palate are apricot, baked pear and grapefruit flavours, characterised by a deep honeyed ripeness from the botrytis. Textural, velvet and smooth, with a little tart balsam and tar note at the finish. 90pts.
