From Central Hawke’s Bay, and the winner of the Trophy for Champion Pinot Gris at the Royal Easter Show Wine Awards this year. A very pale gold colour in the glass, with clear varietal aromas of freshly cut pear, nutmeg, biscuit crumb, lychee, nectarine and a lovely floral note of elderflower. Medium-bodied and with a plush, weighty style that fills the palate with intense, concentrated stone-fruit and honeyed baking spice flavours. A balanced acidity gives some drive through those layers of lush plumpness. Finish is elegant and with great staying power. A wine with great character. 91pts.
