From Central Otago, a second look at this 2018 wine after it appeared in the ‘Top 10 Tasting’ a while back. Elegant and appetising nose, with peach, nashi pear, ginger, honeycomb and biscuity piecrust. Just off-dry, with bright but balanced acidity showing a nip of salinity and chalky minerality. Palate dives deeper into exotic fruits – melon, pineapple and kumquat. Great depth and concentration to the mid-palate, leading to a gorgeous silken texture. I like the weight and harmony on show here, well-crafted, with everything in its right place. 91pts.
