From the Gimblett Gravels, the excellent Hawke’s Bay 2019 vintage. Translucent, medium ruby in the glass, with youthful aromas of lilac, plum, cinnamon and redcurrant. Vivid and fleshed with bright red fruits on the light-medium weight palate. Sweet and succulently ripe raspberry and cherry are framed with cedar and a warm baking spice. Fine, smooth tannins, and integrated acidity. Sleek and elegant, with none of the jamminess of warmer climate Zin. More spice and a peppery note sneaks in towards the finish. 90pts.
