From the original landholdings of John Martin (founder of Martinborough), on the home block vineyard, comes this vibrant, dark crimson Pinot Noir. Floral and red-fruited on the nose with raspberry, redcurrant and notes of clove and allspice. Tannin rather than acidity sets the tone here – firm, broad and balanced. A dense core of cherry, cranberry and Campari flavours, framed with a dusting of spicy oak. An expressive savoury depth of mushroom, wet earth and ground pepper enriches the glossy mid palate and leads to a lingering, elegant finish. 93pts.
