Selected from a couple of vineyards in the Awatere Valley, this Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc brings everything we love about this varietal and presents a couple of twists. A translucent pale green-lemon colour, bright and effusive with aromas of lemongrass, nectarine, tomato stalk and bay leaf. Fresh, dry but rich and tropical on the palate with apricot, pineapple balanced with green notes of herbs, cut grass and sliced fennel. Medium to high acidity with just a hint of coconut-vanilla oak to soften the edges, and a crème fraiche scented, silken, phenolic texture. Complex stuff – layered and characterful. Finished vibrant, ripe and luscious. 92pts. Well crafted wine from the great 2020 vintage.
