A Pinot Noir rosé, hand-picked during the amazing but COVID-affected vintage of 2020. The colour is spot on – an alluring pale, bright watermelon pink. Appealingly perfumed – quite a floral style, with jasmine, musk rose, strawberry and nectarine on the nose. The palate is dry but carries a note of sweetness (4 g/l residual sugar). The flavours are deep and ripe – quince, apricot, dried pear, cranberry and red apple overlaid on a saline, savoury note like oyster shell and fennel. The acidity is taut – quite vibrant, but I’d definitely prefer a bit less alcohol – 14.4% leaves the wine feeling hot and unbalanced. The finish brings it back a bit, ending long and succulent. 90pts
