From Marlborough, the Glover family vineyards on the northern banks of the Opawa River – I reviewed the Chardonnay recently too.
Pale golden, with fragrant pineapple, rose and elderflower florals, sugared almonds and ripe yellow peach aromas. Medium body with a gentle, off-dry, sweetness balanced with a youthful citrus zing of acidity. Flush with dried apricot, lychee, quince, poached pear and ginger flavours. The waxy, plush texture is delectable, and leads to the lengthy, sweetening, honey and spice finish. 92pts.
