Having scored one of those new-fangled Double Gold Medals for the wine at this years New Zealand International Wine Show – the Clearview team went a couple of steps further with their Beachhead Chardonnay 2019. Winning first the ‘Procure Trophy for Champion Chardonnay’ and then getting the top award just a few minutes later.
A popular winner on the night, with Tim Turvey sharing the stage with Winemaker Mat and Auckland Rep Michelle.
To think, this wine finished just outside the WineFolio Top 10 Tasting earlier in the year.. with sibling Chardonnays the ‘Reserve’ and ‘Three Rows’ taking out 2nd and 3rd place on the day. At under $25 (and $20 some places) this is going to sell like hotcakes.
