A Marlborough wine, usually from the Wairau Plains, with a rich expressive nose full of flinty mineral and juicy gooseberry, spring blossom, lemongrass and tomato stalk. Vivacious on the palate – concentrated flavours of ripe passionfruit, pineapple, fresh-cut soft herbs and green capsicum.
Zings with a medium acidity and is mouth-watering and juicy. Combined with a distinct stony salinity this gives a real lift to the zesty finish. 90pts.
A classic Marlborough Sav, but there’s not much better than this style to go with a meal of grilled snapper, as we did.
