A Gold medal winner at the NZIWS last year, it’s a single vineyard Central Otago Pinot Noir, from the Parkburn sub-region; made by Pinot rockstar Matt Connell. Dark, deep cherry red with a savoury aroma of thyme, sumac and black doris plum. Mid-weight on the palate with intense, ripe fruit flvours.
Raspberry, redcurrant and morello cherry sits amongst layers of dried autumn leaves, wet stone and earthy mushroom. Quite complex and structured but with a lush silken texture to the back of the palate. A long, sweetening finish. 93pts. Like this much more then the 2015 I also tasted recently.
