From The Angler vineyard on the banks of the Wairau River in Marlborough – a winner of one of only three Gold medals awarded in the Viognier class at the New Zealand International Wine Show this year. A pale green-gold colour in the glass. Enticingly aromatic – there are apricot, lime marmalade, mandarin, pear danish, allspice, ginger and elderflower floral notes entwined on the nose. Quite full bodied, with plenty of weight and texture. A lush fruit concentration adds to the depth, and there is enough acidity to give good carry through the palate. A waxy texture rounds things out. 92pts
