A riesling using grapes from their Rapaura vineyard, in the heart of Marlborough. A translucent, bright silvery green colour in the glass. Intense but light on the nose, with aromas of lime, apple, sliced fennel, mandarin, greengage and orange blossom. Off-dry to taste, with a lighter alcohol of 9.5% – the ripe fruitiness being balanced by a zing of zesty acidity. A light, sorbet-like spritz in the elegant entry, leading to layers of dried apple, quartzy minerals and preserved lemon. The finish has that sweet roundness and good persistence. 90pts
