Sundial is Jordan Hogg’s white blend – in 2024 it is Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Grüner Veltliner and Pinot Gris. Harvested as a field blend, then foot stomped, and pressed together. Into barrel and taken back to the vineyard the grapes are from to start fermentation – a process Jordan calls ‘vinsitu’.
The perfume shows lemon, apple, grapefruit, white peach, with a delicate floral waft of orange blossom and elderflower. Fruit-forward, medium-bodied and vibrantly energy-filled. The acidity is quite saline and crisp, but there’s also a key textural element that dials down the drive into cruise mode. The vibe is Alsace-meets-Chablis and it comes together very harmonically developing a softer edge as you go. The finish has a gentle spice and pepper and good length. 93pts
