A wine from the Wairarapa region – Schubert’s flagship wines are their excellent Pinot Noirs, but they also make a range of other wines – white and red (and rosé). A pale lemon-green colour in the glass. There is a nod to the New Zealand expression of Sav here, but it is in a more elegant and restrained style. Aromas of pineapple, passion fruit, and lemongrass meet fresh green flavours of pea pod, dried apple and white pepper. A great summery white wine, with flinty acidity and a lively energy through the palate. The finish is long and polished (and more-ish). 90pts
